Community Outreach Ministries

Angel Tree
We participate in the Angel Tree Project, a Prison Fellowship Ministry. We reach out to the children of an incarcerated parent in our 94124 neighborhood during the Christmas Holidays. We provide two gifts per child according to their wish list. We host a Christmas Party for them and a local catering company donates the food. The presence of Santa Claus and festive decorations makes for a fun event. We receive tremendous support and donations from our parish and community in this Ministry.

KIPP Bayview Academy
Knowledge is Power Program

KIPP is a College Prep Middle School serving grades 5-8. When our Catholic School closed in 2003, we offered our school facility to the KIPP Bayview Academy because we know the importance of an education, especially in the Bayview. Shipwreck parishioners benefit from the KIPP school and the KIPP families see the witness of a vibrant Catholic Church and are able to take advantage of our programs such as Religious Education. For more information contact KIPP at 415-467-2522 or visit their website.

Beyond the Church Walls

Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?

And the King will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least [brothers/sisters] of mine, you did for me.’

Matthew 25:37-40
